Community Guidelines

Eternal Pilgrim is built around welcome, mutual help and freely chosen connection. These guidelines explain existing expectations of respect, honesty and safety in profiles, interactions, references and independently arranged activities.

Welcome and respect

Treat travellers, locals and project members with dignity. Harassment, hate and discriminatory abuse are incompatible with the community. Disagreement does not justify intimidation, degrading messages or persistent unwanted attention. Respect differences in language, background, beliefs and circumstances.

Be clear about availability and boundaries and respect others’ choices. Hospitality and mutual help remain voluntary; kindness creates no entitlement to another person’s time, home, transport, contacts or labour.

Thoughtful Knocks and Opens

Explain why you want to connect and choose an accurate context. Read the profile before requesting help and keep notes relevant. Accept a decline or no reply. Do not use repeated invitations or external messages to pressure someone who has declined.

An Open permits connection and selected contact sharing, not a promised meeting or agreement to every proposal. Ask rather than assume. Consent to one activity does not imply consent to another; either person may change their mind.

Honest profiles and opportunities

Provide accurate profiles and describe what you genuinely offer or seek. False profiles, impersonation, scams and unsafe requests undermine the network. Keep availability and plans clear so people can make informed choices.

For hospitality, travel, sailing, volunteering or projects, explain expectations and proposed costs or help honestly. Do not pressure someone into hosting, intimacy, travel, sharing data or unpaid work. Discuss changes directly instead of treating an earlier Open as an obligation.

Privacy and consent

Do not publish exact home addresses or expose someone’s private contacts in profiles, Knock notes or references. Receiving a contact is not permission to publish it or ignore boundaries. Keep contact appropriate to the connection and stop when unwanted.

Your sharing settings apply to previous Opens too. Follow Safety when exchanging an address privately for an agreed visit. Blocking cannot retrieve information already shared through another service.

Authentic references

Describe real interactions honestly, based on your experience. Separate facts from opinion and explain concerns without harassment, private contacts or invented allegations. References are not a way to retaliate for a declined invitation or pressure someone into a favourable review.

References and meeting indicators do not validate every statement. Membership changes neither honesty expectations nor the need for independent judgment.

Members can report or dispute abusive references and replies. Moderators can review and restrict content or account access following confirmed abuse. A negative opinion or report alone is not proof of misconduct.

Responsible reports and blocks

Report concerns using safety, harassment, spam, privacy or other, with relevant context and a clear distinction between observations and suspicions. Honesty and respect apply to reports too; reporting should not be used as pressure in a disagreement.

Authorised administrators review reports rather than posting them as public accusations. Submission alone does not establish wrongdoing. Block is a personal boundary tool stopping new in-app contact and connection access while blocked; manage it in Settings. External services require their own controls.

Moderation and disputed decisions

Administrators can review reports, related Knock/Open context and account information, mark reports reviewed and suspend, disable or restore access. Safety or rule violations may lead to content removal or restrictions. These explanations add no new grounds for punishment and do not guarantee action on every report.

The product has no dedicated suspension appeal system, decision-status tracker or guaranteed review deadline. An accessible profile report can raise concerns about a member or interaction but is not an account appeal and may be unavailable to a restricted account. A confirmed operator contact and legally required procedures remain to be published. Statutory remedies are not waived.
